Welcome to a new series on Managing Madrid: Highlight packages and player comps! As we delve into more and more video content, we’ll also be keeping it in mind to make player comps after games — both Real Madrid at the club level as well as its players on international duty. We’ll also do historical videos, as well as compilations over longer sample sizes. We hope you enjoy.
It was arguably Kylian Mbappe’s best performance of the season today against Las Palmas. As Managing Madrid’s Matt Wiltse put it in his player ratings piece:
“Kylian Mbappé — 9.5: A world-class performance—this was a player worthy of the “best in the world” title. His first 45 minutes were untouchable: three goals (one disallowed via VAR), but it felt like he could have had five or six. Most impressive was his alpha mentality—he was a clear leader and constantly created goal-scoring opportunities out of nothing. If he can maintain this level, it will transform Madrid’s season.”
We’ve compiled a video of some of Mbappe’s best moments from that match.
