After the international break at the end of October, Real Madrid are back in training. With the match against Levante, that should’ve been played on November 3rd, getting postponed, Las Blancas have had more time in training to prepare for the upcoming games in the month of November.
As the journalist Andrea Peláez reported for COPE, Athenea had an accident in training on November 6th which resulted in a collarbone fracture.

It’s reported by Relevo that the action in which she suffered the injury was a fall to the ground after getting into a duel for the ball. The player should be out for 2 to 3 months, and she has gotten immediate surgical intervention.
The club issued the official medical report:
“Our player Athenea del Castillo successfully underwent surgery today on a fractured right collarbone, an injury she sustained during Wednesday’s training session. The operation was carried out at the Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital. Athenea will begin her recovery program in the coming days.”
