Shares of Granules India Ltd.(up 1.8 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.3 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.96 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.22 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 0.22 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 4.19 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 2.7 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 2.56 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 2.45 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.98 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.56 per cent at 22471.60.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 36.6 points at 24435.5, while the BSE Sensex stood 138.74 points at 80081.98.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato, YES Bank, JP Power and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Amber Enterprises, Firstsource, Interarch Building, Coforge and Persistent System hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Rajesh Exports, Akshar Spintex, Stampede Cap, SecUR Credentials and Kamdhenu Ventures hit their fresh 52-week lows.
