Fortis Healthcare Q1 Results: Net profit jumps 40% to Rs 174 crore, revenue up 12%

The healthcare provider reported net profit of Rs 124 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Revenue rose 12.2% YoY to Rs 1859 crore.

The operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and ammortisation (EBITDA) rose 25.5% YoY to Rs 343 crore. The EBITDA margins rose 190 basis points to 18.4%.Hospital revenues, which constitutes over 83% of overall revenues, increased 14.4% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1,549 crore led by 10% YoY and 4% QoQ increase in average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB) per day during the quarter to Rs 65,924.

Occupancy stood at 67% in Q1FY25 versus 64% in Q1FY24, owing to an increase in the operational beds by 100. The average length of stay (ALOS) was at 4.16 days.

EBITDA for hospital business rose 39% YoY to Rs 287 crore in Q1FY25.. While EBITDA margins for hospital business improved 330 basis points YoY to 18.5%, on QoQ basis they dropped 390 basis points from 22.4% in Q4FY24.Diagnostics business revenues increased 2%YoYs at Rs 309 crore.Revenues from medical tour for the quarter grew 11% to reach IRs127 Cr in Q1FY24, contributing nearly 8% to overall hospital revenues.
