The Rumour Mill in Full Swing
Real Madrid will always be linked with signings. The seasons is on a knife’s edge and more than likely the club will spend to explain away any failures.
Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi is fast becoming a hot topic given a dearth of options in terms of top class midfielders on the market. Real Madrid have done excellent work in finding talents for midfield and attack. It would be dishonest to claim otherwise. The recruitment of the current group of midfielders Modric, Ceballos, Fede, Tchouaméni, Bellingham and Camavinga is laudible to say the least.
Fortea Turns 18.. Still in Limbo
The Illusion captures many but only a chosen few will realise it for a moment and even fewer for many years.
Fortea probably thought he was making the big step moving to La Fabrica but has since found the patience required with zero guarantees can force one to reconsider their options. Real Madrid would do well to extend him and give him first team minutes. He’s very young and would benefit from even minimal exposure with the first team. Happy ending?
The Boy has become The Man
The beautfiul story of Raul Asencio. He was likely on his way out to some other club for peanuts before fate reached out and grabbed that hand with everything in him. The fire burning inside him is a great image for La Fabrica and one hopes he will be a template to emulate. Unfortunately, it’s a cindarella story. The club has a low opinion of it’s own development.
They prefer to look elsewhere. Even know the links with Huijsen remind us that the generational talents who appeared after the collapse of the Leny Yoro move were a mirage. Happy ending? Indeed!
