We Move On

Coaching. So today, we move on. We lost and now it’s time to analyze and figure out our next steps after this disappointing loss. The first headlines appear to be that there will be a coaching change that could occur as quickly as after the CDR Final. Everything that I’ve heard indicates our manager will be Xabi Alonso (and note I’ve said this for months that Carlo was leaving this season.). However, there is growing buzz regarding Jurgen Klopp as a surprise name. I haven’t exactly determined in my head who I’d prefer of the two. In some ways Klopp is the known commodity, but being known isn’t always beneficial. It feels like his entire ethos is somewhat anti-Madrid as he’s extremely process over results driven. I’m also not entirely sure how he’d handle the politics of being the manager of Real Madrid. On the other hand, Xabi is still green. He likely has a better grasp of the politics and will be given more grace due to being Spanish and a former club legend. But still, a few early losses and we could be in a crisis. Nevertheless, I’m just happy we’re finally moving towards newer ideas…(lmao watch us hire Zidane in like two days).

Players. It looks like we’ll also be bidding farewell to a few Real Madrid players this summer. As we speak, it looks like Modric, Lucas Vazquez, and Vallejo will be the obvious choices but there may be a few surprises. Rumor has it that one of Vinicius or Rodrygo may also depart as the club looks to potentially sign Wirtz (or Haaland). Not to again start a convo that leads to boycotts, but….Rodrygo defends and Mbappe isn’t playing RW lmao. Mbappe is here to stay, so I’m choosing the guy who is at least willing to be a runner. There are also a fair share of connects to Zubimendi which may change the future of Tchouameni or Camavinga as well as a much needed LB. TAA has been confirmed. It’ll be an interesting turnover as we rebuild this squad.

Board. The board isn’t changing so it isn’t really worth discussing too much. So let’s just collectively pray that this pushes them to be a bit more active. Of course, who knows what our budgeting system really is or what the major concerns are with the Bernabeu shutting down its concerts due to noise complaints. We will see. But the Big Bad Wolf is quite frankly here to stay.
