These ice sculptures, or ice lanterns, have been adding some magic to the New Year festivities in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. Formed into the shapes of mythological creatures, animals and traditional architecture, the sculptures are display of the intricacies of local craftsmanship. Visitors have been marveling at them at this year’s ice lantern art fair, a free event at Harbin’s Zhaolin Park in the city’s Daoli District.
