OFFICIAL: Toni Kroos announces his retirement

Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has announced on his social media that he will retire after the upcoming UEFA Euro, which will be played this summer. Therefore, his last game for Real Madrid will be the Champions League Final against Borussia Dortmund.

As he always said he’d do, Kroos will leave at the top. The 2023-24 season has been one of his best campaigns as a player and he has plenty of fuel left in the tank to think that he could be a very relevant player and undisputed starter for Real Madrid next year.

Still, Kroos’ decision is a very mature one. It’s clear that leaving the game while still on top was a priority for him and that means that Real Madrid fans will not get to see his decline.

Kroos is not only one of the best midfielders in club history, but also one of the best in the history of the sport. A truly trascendant player.
