Real Madrid have published an official announcement on their website to deny Carlo Ancelotti’s quotes to Il Giornale. The Italian coach had said in that interview that Madrid would not participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which is going to take place in the summer of 2025 with the new format announced by FIFA.
Real Madrid C. F. communicates that at no time has its participation in the new Club World Cup organized by FIFA for the next season 2024/2025 been questioned. Therefore, our club will compete, as planned, in this official competition that we face with pride and the utmost enthusiasm to once again make our millions of fans around the world dream of a new title.

Ancelotti himself has also backtracked on his social media.
In my interview with Il Giornale, my words about the FIFA Club World Cup have not been interpreted in the way I intended. Nothing could be further from my interest than rejecting the possibility of playing in a tournament that I consider could be a great opportunity to continue fighting for major titles with Real Madrid.
