Nacho on the Verge of Moving to Saudi Arabia: Two-Year Deal with Al Ittihad Alongside Benzema—Report

Real Madrid’s central defender, Nacho, is on the brink of a significant move to Al Ittihad, joining his former teammate Karim Benzema. According to MARCA, Nacho has almost finalized his departure from Real Madrid, where his contract expires on June 30. Al Ittihad has extended a lucrative two-year offer, proposing an annual salary of around €20 million, substantially more than the €5.5 million he earned at Madrid.

The financial benefits are further amplified by Saudi Arabia’s favorable tax conditions. Last week, Al Ittihad’s sporting director, Ramón Planes, visited Madrid to solidify the deal, which only awaits Nacho’s signature. Benzema, who transitioned to Saudi football last summer, has given his approval to the move.

Initially, Nacho seemed inclined towards the MLS, but the enticing offer from Al Ittihad, along with interest from Al Nassr, gradually became more appealing. Real Madrid also offered a one-year renewal, but Nacho’s decision marks the end of his potential status as a “one club man.”

In his final season with Real Madrid, Nacho, as captain, secured three titles: the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga, and the Champions League. He lived his boyhood dream lifting the Champions League over the Cibeles statue and celebrating with the team.
