My iPhone stayed fully charged at Glastonbury thanks to smart new gadget

If you’re heading to a festival this summer – or simply taking the family on UK camping trip – you definitely want to invest in a portable battery pack. There are loads of boosters available from famous names such as Belkin and Mophie that will all refill your smartphone when it goes flat but one new accessory from the team at Anker certainly stands out from the crowd.

It’s called the Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K) and it’s a gadget I recently used at Glastonbury to keep my iPhone fully charged throughout the whole weekend. Tucked under its shell is a 10,000mAh battery which, once full, offers around two complete iPhone refills depending on the model you own.

I had an iPhone 15 Pro Max in my pocket (battery size 4,441mAh) for the festival and the MagGo had no issues keeping the 6.7-inch Retina screen glowing bright from Thursday to Sunday.

Of course, there are loads of power packs that do pretty much the same thing but what I like about the MagGo is not only snaps to the back of the iPhone using magnets for wireless Qi charging but also gets a neat little kickstand.

That makes it an ideal travel accessory and perfect to turn your iPhone into a bedside clock or mini music player. The wireless charging mode won’t boost the battery at rapid speeds but if you are in desperate need of a quick power up there’s fast wired charging available as well which will boost a standard iPhone 15 from flat to 60 percent in around 30 minutes.

A screen on the side of the Anker MagGo Power Bank shows how much charge is left in the battery and also if it’s currently refilling a device.

Its small size makes it perfect to pop in your pocket and it even has some clever sensors that check the temperature to make sure things never overheat.

I’ve had lots of power packs in the past and they do exactly what they say on the tin. The Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K) feels a little unique thanks to that stand, wireless charging and the ability to snap it firmly to the back of your iPhone.

Of course, with all those features it doesn’t come cheap. Anker wants a pretty hefty £89.99 for the privilege of owning it but ahead of the big Prime Day sale event, Amazon has slashed the price of this device to £65.99 – saving you 27 percent.

You will find plenty of other power packs on Amazon for much cheaper prices with some starting from under £20. However, if you fancy something a little different then the Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K) comes highly recommended.
