Microsoft’s all-new Windows 11 PCs are its smartest and fastest ever

There’s a new range of Windows 11-powered devices launching soon that are not only much faster but also way smarter. Microsoft has just confirmed what’s coming next and it looks mighty. The latest products, which are branded Copilot+ PCs, promise to offer huge leaps in performance with Microsoft even boasting that they will be 58 percent faster than Apple’s newest – and top-rated – MacBooks.

Thanks to new ARM processors inside, including the latest Snapdragon X Elite chip, these all-new devices will be able to perform 40 trillion operations per second whilst also being massively efficient. Treat the machines kindly and you could see 22 hours of life before they need to go near a plug.

“Copilot+ PCs are the fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever built,” explained Microsoft. “With powerful new silicon capable of an incredible 40+ TOPS (trillion operations per second), all–day battery life and access to the most advanced AI models, Copilot+ PCs will enable you to do things you can’t on any other PC.”

It’s not just about sheer grunt either as the upcoming laptops will also be way smarter. Full integration with Microsoft’s smart Copilot software should help speed up tasks, make searching the web more fluid and improve the way you find things on the PC. Digging into the setting will also be boosted thanks to this clever AI.

Something else that’s new is something called Recall which does exactly what it says on the tin. Using this feature you’ll be able to find things you’ve been viewing previously. This includes content from websites, family photos and even presentations. Just give Recall some basic information about what you want to track down it does the rest.

“We set out to solve one of the most frustrating problems we encounter daily – finding something we know we have seen before on our PC,” said Microsoft. “Today, we must remember what file folder it was stored in, what website it was on, or scroll through hundreds of emails trying to find it. Now with Recall, you can access virtually what you have seen or done on your PC in a way that feels like having photographic memory.”

Once Recall has worked its magic, you can scroll across time to find the content you need in your timeline across any application, website and documents.

Some of the first devices to this boost include new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro machines.

The powerful new Surface Laptop gets razor-thin bezels, touchscreen display, AI-enhanced camera, premium audio, and now features a haptic touchpad.

It will be available in 13.8” and 15” sizes along with four colours. Microsoft reckons it will last for 22 hours and get those all-new AI experiences.

Next it’s the Surface Pro with this 2-in-1 laptop getting a speed boost which makes it over 80 percent faster than before. There’s also an optional OLED screen and ultrawide field of view camera. Finally, there’s a better Flex Keyboard which has beeb designed to be used both attached or detached. These laptops are available to pre-order now.
