Shares of HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 3.47 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.03 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 2.71 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 2.69 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 2.59 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.43 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.56 per cent up at 37090.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 215.16 points at 21453.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 689.76 points at 71060.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 ended in the green, while 9 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, South Indian Bnk, Indian Railway Fin and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of IFCI, Trans & Rectif, MTNL, Manaksia Aluminium and Avonmore Capital & hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while ideaForge Technology, Orient Bell, Astec Lifesc, Rajratan Global and Blue Coast Hotel hit their fresh 52-week lows.
