Florentino Perez confirmed Real Madrid legend Luka Modric will stay for another season at Real Madrid after seeing his team win the Champions League at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.
This comes after months of speculation surrounding Modric’s future, which is now confirmed to be at Real Madrid for another year.
“Luka Modric will surely continue with us for another season,” said Perez. “There is no doubt about that. We are very happy to have him He is one of the greatest legends of this club.”
Modric did not confirm it, but reiterated his desire to stay at the club.
“Real Madrid is the club of my life. I feel at home here. I’ve said many times I want to retire here, and I hope it will happen,” said the six-time Champions League winner.
Lucas Vazquez also confirmed that he is staying for another season around the same time, which is good news for Real Madrid and a well-deserved reward for an excellent season.
Vazquez said: “It looks like I will stay for another year, yes.”
It remains to be seen what Nacho decides to do for his future, but it is a good sign that Modric and Vazquez look set to continue.
