Ceballos: “I’m still a Real Madrid player because of Ancelotti”

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos talked to the press after scoring the team’s game-winning goal against Union Berlin. Granted, it was a meaningless game for Madrid, but the goal still carried weight for Ceballos.

“I’m gaining confidence little by little. It’s true that I’m not at my best right now, but the goal will help. The team has always trusted me, but also the support of my family helped me. It’s been a tough stretch for me with all those injuries and with me not being able to find a groove when I was on the field, but now I am happy with the win and the group stage. I worked with people at the club,” said Ceballos.

The Spanish midfielder also wanted to thank coach Carlo Ancelotti.

“I’m still a Real Madrid because of him, he’s been key. He knows how tough it’s been for me and he always supported me. He told me that he was very happy for me because of the goal. His trust and confidence is crucial, he’s like a father figure for all of us,” he added.
